Robert R. McNamara is a graduate of UMass Boston and the Kenmore Square Institute for Funeral Directing, now New England Insitute. Bob has been a lifelong summer resident of Scituate. In 1983, he became President of McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Homes in Cohasset and Norwell. At that time, he moved his family, Alice E. (Young) and children, Brendan, Kelly, Katie and Shane, to Norwell.
Bob, a third generation in the funeral business, continues to build on the legacy his father and grandparents started with J.B. Cassidy and later McNamara Funeral Home.
In Bob’s near 30 years on the South Shore, he has become deeply rooted in the community. An avid boater and golfer, Bob can often be met at Hatherly Country Club or Scituate Harbor Yacht Club, or even about Cohasset and Scituate Harbor. Bob is also a member of The Cohasset Rotary and the Cohasset and Norwell Chambers of Commerce.
