Anastasia C. (Drummey) Scollans

Anastasia “Anne” Cecilia (Drummey) Scollans of Scituate and Medford, age 90, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2016 after a brief illness. Beloved daughter, mother, sister and friend. Daughter of the Late John J. Drummey and the late Julianne (Maher) Drummey. She was married for over 40 years to the Late Deacon James F. Scollans, mother of the late James M. Scollans and Donna Ford of Scituate, Mark E. and Merianne Scollans of WA, Carol G. Scollans and Kevin Colarusso of NH, and David M. Scollans of Scituate and loving parent of the late W. Scott Bryant. Revered grandmother to Adrienne and David Hawkins, Rachel Scollans, Erin and Liana Scollans and Joshua Ford. Great grandmother to Vivienne Lorrain Hawkins. Sister to the Late James P. Drummey, the late Mary McCarthy, Margaret McDermott and Alice Howard. Sister in law to Eleanor Gallagher.

 

Anne was an excellent Registered nurse receiving her RN from St. Margaret’s hospital in Boston in the 1940’s and later in 1982 her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology from Emmanuel College. For the last 15 years of her career, she worked for Utilization Review and coordinated the Physician’s Advisory Panel for Blue Cross Blue Shield.

 

She was a member of the Saint Mary’s of the Nativity parish in Scituate where she served as Eucharistic minister and partner to her husband’s Deaconate role in the church.

She leaves behind many extended family and friends.

 

A Funeral from the McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 160 So. Main St. (across from St. Anthony Church), Cohasset, MA. 02025 at 9 am on Friday, Dec. 2, 2016 followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated at 10 am in St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent St., Scituate Harbor, MA. Visiting hours Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016 from 4-7 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, Cohasset. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Rosie’s Place or the Pine Street Inn, two organizations associated with her lifelong outreach to the community.
