James Patrick Kean

James Patrick “Jamie” Kean, age 39, suddenly of natural causes after an acute medical condition on January 16, 2017 at home. Adoring and devoted father of James P. Kean Jr. “JJ” of Norwell. Beloved son of James A. Kean of Norwell and the late Leah F. (Dalton) Kean. Loving brother of David J. Kean and wife Kristin of Norwell and Leahanne Droukas of Brockton. Loving uncle of Lindsey and Gabriel Kean; Jullia and Dianna Droukas; Grace, Maddie, and Lucy McCoy; and Sydney and Hallie Schofield. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, close friends, and JJ’s mother, Jill McCoy of Norwell.

Jamie was a graduate of Norwell High School and attended Plymouth State Univ., NH. He owned and operated Kean Co., a landscape service and excavation company. More recently, Jamie worked for CDM Smith, Inc., as a construction supervisor and representative. Jamie was a devoted and proud father, who loved spending time with JJ.  

Friends and family will gather to celebrate Jamie for visiting hours on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017 from 5-8 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 30 Central Street (off Rt. 123, near State Police Barracks), Norwell Center and again Friday, January 20, 2017 at 10 am before leaving in procession to St. Helen Church, 383 Washington Street, Norwell, MA. for an 11 am Funeral Mass. Donations to honor Jamie may be made in memory of his aunt Ruth Dalton to the New England Village, 664 School Street, Pembroke, MA. 02359.
