Jessica L. MacDonald, age 42, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Daughter of Joseph W. and Agnes M. (Molloy) MacDonald of No. Weymouth (formerly of Cohasset). Sister of Brenda Blair and husband Larry of Hull, David MacDonald and wife Cindy of Portsmouth, RI, Madlyn Pettie and husband Alan of Cohasset, Sarah Murphy and husband Ryan of Andover and the late Michael MacDonald. Also survived by her nieces Ashley, Emily, Isabel and nephews Sean, Aiden, Brady, Dalton, William, Maximus, Corey, and large supportive community.
Jessie was a Hall of Fame Athlete with the Special Olympics, winning over 150 medals in Regional, National, and World Games. She loved softball and had a true passion for all sports with an iron will to continue playing softball and tennis even after losing her right arm to cancer. When Jessie was not playing sports, she enjoyed working at the Hanover YMCA, making her stained glass artworks and bracelets, and volunteering at Friendship Home, Outdoor Explorations, and Magical Moon.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Jessie’s life on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 4-7 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 160 So. Main St. (across from St. Anthony Church), Cohasset. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 12 noon in St. Anthony Church, Cohasset. Interment Woodside Cemetery, Cohasset.
