Mary E. Maree

 Mary Ellen Maree born Aug. 30, 1923 in Cohasset, Ma, daughter of Blanche (Wallace) Figueiredo and Louis Figueiredo passed away peacefully in her sleep at the NVNA Pat Roche Hospice Home in Hingham, with her family by her side.
     Mary was raised in Cohasset, graduating from Cohasset High School in 1941.  Upon graduation, she entered secretarial school, and quickly found a job in Boston.  She had several boyfriends, but it was a Cohasset gent, Edward John Maree, she chose to marry in Great Falls, MT. in 1944.  Shortly after Ed was commissioned from Officers school in the Army, she followed her beloved to Trinidad and Limerick, Ireland where he was stationed.  Son, Terence was then born and the family of 3 returned to the States, living in Valley Stream, New York.  In 1951, daughter Linda was born and the family of 4 lived in Valley Stream for 26 years.  Home to both Ed and Mary though, was Massachusetts, and in 1975 their dream came true when Ed's job transferred the family to Pembroke, and then retirement in East Bridgewater.  Ed passed away in June 2001, but Mary continued on to keep the family together.
      Mary will be remembered for her impeccable dress.  Everything had to match, not a hair out of place, and of course, the red lipstick and the eyebrows.
      Mary loved to travel with her family, visiting many countries, cruises, and touring our National Parks.  She loved camping, RVing, and snowmobiled until she was 85.  She knitted and sewed, especially clothes and curtains and took pride in decorating their home.  She will be missed for her wit, her happy personality, and kindness.  She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
      Mary is survived by her daughter Linda Maree of East Bridgewater, her son Terence and wife Ginny of Norwell, her granddaughters Amy Maree of Norwell, and Holly Tate and husband Timothy of Norwell.  She has 3 great grandchildren, Kara Tate, Brayden Tate, and Emily Mary Tate of Norwell.  She leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews, sister-in-laws Margaret Figueiredo of Cohasset, Betty Maree of Cohasset and Godchild Cindy Williams of Nevada.  She was preceded in her death by her parents, Blanche and Louis, husband Ed, and brothers Donald, Bob, Ralph, and Mickey Figueiredo.
      Arrangements are being made by McNamara Sparrell Funeral Home 1 Summer St. Cohasset, Ma.  Friends and family are invited to the wake on Thurs. July 21, from 4-8PM and funeral mass will take place Friday morning at 10AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church Summer St. , Cohasset, Ma.  Burial
will be at Woodside Cemetery Cohasset, Ma.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Norwell Visiting Nurse Assoc. Pat Roche Hospice Home  86 Turkey Hill Drive, Hingham, MA
