Debra J. (Hubbard) Lydon, of Cohasset, was born in Pittsfield, MA to Dorothy Gigliotti and Bernard Hubbard. At a young age, Debra accompanied her mother and father to California, as her Father began Officers Training at Fort Ord as a member of the United States Army. Soon enough, her family of three welcomed along a fourth member in her younger brother John Hubbard. Following the separation of her parents, Debra stayed with her father in California, and their family soon grew as her father married Bonnie Hubbard, to which she gained three step siblings, Hank, Robin, and Martin.
Throughout their time in California, the family spent many summers traveling throughout the United States via car and camper trailer, visiting many National Parks. She also made trips to Massachusetts to spend time with her mother’s side of the family, enjoying summers in the Berkshires, and her new brother Billy, her mother’s newest addition to the family with her husband Bill Wilhelm. Debra resided in California through her eventual graduation from Highschool, and through her time at San Diego State University. She then returned to Massachusetts and graduated from Northeastern University as well as Forsyth in 1976, as a Dental Hygienist.
Debra went on to have a successful career in Dental Hygiene, spending over 30 years in the profession. A testament to her work and friendly attitude was warm memories of Christmas Cards decorating up and down the banister in her Cohasset home, from many patients of years past.
Debra and her spouse William T. Lydon were married on April 25, 1981, and celebrated their wedding reception at Hugo’s in Cohasset Harbor. They always enjoyed the small coastal town charm and resided in Cohasset ever since. Their children, Christian and Nicholas, twins, meant the world to them. Debra also had a soft spot for her fourth Airedale Terrier, Peter.
Debra was a committed and loving mother, who strived to always give her children the means for success. She exposed her children to many different sports, hobbies, and interests, always assuring they had the opportunity to explore their imagination. Her children are both very grateful for all the opportunities she selflessly provided for them.
Debbie had many friends throughout life and enjoyed the beach, reading intriguing mystery novels, gardening, boating, the pool, being around family, and enjoying the occasional glass or two of Kendall Jackson Chardonnay. She was also an adamant Boston Sports fan, often heard in the neighborhood cheering her favorite players on.
Debbie was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Wilhelm, father, Bernard Hubbard, stepmother, Bonnie Hubbard, and stepfather, Bill Wilhelm. She is also preceded in death by her brothers in law, Timothy and Patrick Lydon. She is survived by her three brothers, John and his wife Gabby, son Evan and daughter Payge, her brother Hank, and his children, and her brother Billy and his wife Alex, and their daughter Sawyer. On her husband’s side, she is survived by her sister-in-law, Janet Lydon, and her children, Kim, Patrick, Jamie, and Dr. Ryan Lydon.
