Miriam Drew O'Neil 71, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 18, 2024 in Boston, Massachusetts. Miriam (Drew) was born on December 17th 1952 in Natick to the late James H. and Miriam Fairclough. She was the cherished wife of Paul O'Neil, with whom she shared 48 beautiful years of marriage. She is survived by William H. “Biff” Fairlcough, of Wilmette IL, and her sister Amy M. Buhl (Fairclough) of Harbor Springs, MI. She is predeceased by her brothers James H. Fairclough IV “Sparky” and Richard N. Fairclough “Nick”.
Drew was a devoted mother to her daughters, Miriam Taylor Fontneau (O’Neil) and her husband Michael Fontneau of Madison, CT, and Blaire O'Neil of Boston, MA. She was the proud grandmother of Quinn and Connor Fontneau, who brought immeasurable joy and laughter into her life. Her family was her greatest source of happiness, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Drew will be remembered for her kindness, determination, resilience and unwavering love for God, family and friends. She had a remarkable ability to make friends with everyone and make them feel welcomed and loved, her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In addition to her devotion to her family, Drew was known for her passion for storytelling, holistic medicine, and her bible studies.
A celebration of Drew's life will be held at 10am on April 20th 2024 at St. Mary of the Nativity Parish Hall in Scituate, Ma. There will also be an internment memorial service with family in July, 2024. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Drew’s memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in Drew’s honor at JDRF.org
