Sarah Ethelene Devers (Green) of Norwell, MA passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024 with her family by her side.

Beloved wife of the late Lemuel H. Devers. Devoted mother of Brenda C. Scheicher of Norwell, Charles H. Devers (Debra) of Daytona Beach, Fl and Cape Girardeau, MO, Donald E. Devers (Mary) of Hanover, MA, Kimberly Devers of Norwell. Loving daughter of the late Herman and Eugenia Green. Dear sister of Elvis R. Green of Huntland, TN and pre-deceased by Mabry L. Green, Milfred Green, Elvin Green, Janice Miller and Charlotte Ray.

Cherished grandmother of Marc Schleicher (Allison), Keith Schleicher (Heidi), James Schleicher, Jonathan Devers (Kristi), Jeffery Devers (Heather), James Devers, Joshua Devers, Christopher Devers (May), Nicholas Devers, Donald Devers, Matthew Devers (Caitlyn), Erik Scheer and Cadence Scheer. Loving great-grandmother of 15- Kaitlin, Colby, Kyle, Ava and Ryder Schleicher, Isaac, Aidan, Natalie, Nathan, Kauri, Niklas, Jackson, Riley, Betty and Jude Devers.

Also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Ethelene was the leader of the Norwell 4-H Horse Club for 30 years and started the town 4-H school dances for grades 5 thru 8. She loved travelling to horse shows all over the country with her daughter, Kim’s show barn. She loved cleaning stalls and did so until she was 89 years old. She and her partner, Horst Nuermberger, owned and operated Bavarian Pastry of Quincy and Norwell. She was an active member of the Norwell Women’s Club for many years and was a member of United Church of Christ, Norwell.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 9th, 2024 at 11am at the United Church of Christ, Norwell, MA.  In lieu of flowers remembrance’s in Sarah’s memory may be made to the Beech Grove Methodist Church c/o Elvis Green 609 Scenic Hills Rd Huntland TN 37345.
