Albert J. Meallo

Albert J. Meallo, age 80, a lifelong resident of Cohasset, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home on May 14, 2018 after a brief illness. Beloved husband of 60 years to Paula F. (Costello) Meallo. Loving father of Greg Meallo and his late wife, Joan, of Scituate, Melissa Meallo Zani and her husband Drew of Exeter, NH, and the late Michael Francis Meallo and his surviving wife Jennifer Meallo of Norwell. Loving Papa of Joseph Albert Meallo, Alicia Zani-Conklin, Katharine Hannah Meallo, Max Meallo, Lindsey Meallo and six great-grandchildren. Beloved brother in law of Gerard and Kathie Costello of VT. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Meallo was an avid golfer and a longtime member of Scituate Country Club. He was also a member of the Sons of Italy, Hingham. Al loved flowers and tended to his incredible gardens and waterfall. He is treasured by his family and will be lovingly remembered for his quick wit and jokes, which put a smile on the faces of all who knew him.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 10 am in St. Anthony Church, Cohasset followed by a Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Al may be made to The Italian Home for Children, 1125 Centre Street, Boston, MA 02130-3495 or to the Hospice of the South Shore, 30 Reservoir Park Drive, Rockland, MA. 02370, for whom the family is forever grateful for their compassionate and devoted care of Al.
