Alicia grew up in Wollaston, Massachusetts and graduated from North Quincy High School. She attended the Chandler School for Women where she learned secretarial skills. She put those skills to use working for Perkins Institute for the Blind and as a camp counselor at Camp Allen. She spoke fondly of her biking adventures in Europe with the youth hostel. She met her future husband, John, while on a bike trip to Nantucket Island. They were married soon after and moved to Cohasset where they raised their family. A devoted follower of her faith, she grew spiritually as a member of the Eastern Star Braintree Chapter 167 and as an active member of St. Stephen’s church in Cohasset. Rounding out her service to the church, she helped start the popular soup and sandwich event and served on the altar guild. A lifelong volunteer,  Alicia  donated her time with the Girl Scouts and at the South Shore Hospital gift shop as well as other community organizations.
