Charlene L (Leavitt) Poland

Charlene (Leavitt) Poland, age 75, of Cohasset, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2017. Wife of the late Richard Poland, she was the devoted aunt of Nancy (Rode) Newman of Hanover, Barbara (Rode) Mullen and husband Frank of Hanover, Donna (Rode)Vieweg and husband Ed of Pelham, NH, Melicent Kiser, Peter and Laurie Rounds, Dana and Susan Rounds, Richard Leavitt, and the late Philip Rounds and surviving wife Bess. She was the great-aunt of Brian Newman of Deerfield, FL, Jennifer Mullen of Pembroke, USMC LCPL Sean Mullen and wife Kristen of Hawaii, as well as many other great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her great nephew Brandon Newman, sisters Enid Rode, Thelma Leavitt and brother Richard Leavitt.

Charlene worked for Miller Golf in Rockland until her retirement. She was the family historian and loved to share the family’s history with all. To Charlene family was the most important thing in life and she cherished hers. She loved all animals and would spend most days in her garden with her dogs. Charlene was loved by all. 

Friends and family will gather to celebrate Charlene’s life from 1-3 pm on Saturday, July 15, 2017, in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 160 So. Main St. (across from St. Anthony Church), Cohasset. A Service will immediately follow at 3 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Charlene may be made to the Alzheimers Assoc., 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452
