Cheryl Ann (McGaughey) Schraut

Cheryl Ann (McGaughey) Schraut, 71, passed away on July 8, 2017 at The Pat Roche Hospice Home in Hingham, MA, surrounded by her family, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s Disease.  Cheryl was born in Brockton, MA to the late Robert, Sr. and Carolyn (Foye) McGaughey.  Cheryl was the loving mother of Ronald and Lori Schraut, Eric and Amy Schraut, Jennifer Schraut and Dr. Jennifer Putney, Matthew Schraut and Jillian Willard, Donna (Schraut) and James Long, and the late Linda (Schraut) Gatto and Robert Schraut, Jr.  Beloved Nana of Shane, Steven, Cayla, Joshua, Andrew, Grace, Jamie, Kortni, Brittany, Tyler, and Taylor.  Great-Grandmother to Avah and Jackson.  Loving sister of Maureen (McGaughey) and Steven Gordon, Beth McGaughey, Colleen McGaughey, and Robert and Mary McGaughey, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. 

Raised in Weymouth and a graduate of Weymouth High Class of 1966.  She enjoyed traveling, skiing, lazy days on Cape Cod, reading, and spending time with her family.

Cheryl’s family welcomes friends and family to celebrate her life at McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer St., Cohasset, MA on Wednesday, July 12 from 4pm to 8pm.  Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony’s Church, 129 South Main St., Cohasset, MA at 11:30am on Thursday, July 13.  Burial will be at Mount Wollaston Cemetery in Quincy, MA at a future date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pat Roche Hospice Home, c/o NVNA and Hospice, 120 Longwater Drive, Norwell, MA 02061, whose staff lovingly took care of Cheryl in her final days.
