Elizabeth A. (Thompson) “Betty” McAuliffe, age 98, of Milton and Scituate passed away peacefully with family surrounding her on May 1, 2018. Loving and devoted wife of Eugene F. McAuliffe, MD for over 46 years. Beloved mother of Carol Madden and husband John of Lexington, Eugene F. McAuliffe Jr. of Milton, Robert McAuliffe and wife Mary Anne of Hingham, Betsy Dobrowski and husband Richard of Plymouth, Richard McAuliffe and wife Nancy of Hingham, and the late William McAuliffe and his surviving wife Laura of Cohasset. Adoring “Grammy” of nine grandchildren and 4 great-granddaughters. One of six siblings. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Born in Mount Vernon, NY, Betty was a graduate of Ursuline Academy, New Rochelle, NY and Marymount College, Tarrytown, NY. Betty lived in Milton and summered in Scituate for over 50 years. She was a devout Catholic attending St. Agatha Church in Milton and St. Anthony Church in Cohasset.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Betty during visiting hours on Sunday, May 6, 2018 from 3-6 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 160 So. Main St. (across from St. Anthony Church), Cohasset. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 10:30 am in St. Anthony Church, Cohasset. Interment Milton Cemetery, Milton.
