Laura A. (Smith) Burns

Laura A. Burns, of Milford, NH, formerly of Norwell, MA, 89, passed in her sleep at the Genesis Crestwood Center in Milford on Saturday, October 14 after a brave struggle with diabetes and other health concerns.  She is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Ralph Burns; her two daughters, Kathleen Rawlins of Cambridge, MA and Patricia Glavin and her husband, Mark, of Amherst, NH and her three loving grandchildren: Samantha Glavin, Victoria Glavin, and Alexander Glavin.  Laura was a much-loved Teacher’s Aide at Vinal Elementary School in Norwell from where she retired in 1992 after 25 years of service.  She enjoyed gardening and acting as a Greeter at the Church of Our Saviour in Milford.  Laura loved spending time with her family from having picnics on Pack Monadnock to bracing winter walks on the beach and backyard family barbecues.  Funeral arrangements have been made through McNamara Sparrell Funeral Home in Norwell, MA.  A graveside service will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA on Tuesday, October 24, at 2:00 pm.
