Margaret I.R. (Morton) Munro

Margaret Isabella Reid (Morton) Munro, age 90, of Cohasset, passed away on April 10, 2017. 
She was the wife of the late Hugh Munro and devoted mother of Neil Munro and wife Gail of Phoenixville, PA; Alison Munro of Quincy; the late Hamish Munro of Cohasset; Ewan Munro and wife Susan of Randolph; and Kirsty Munro of London, UK. She is also survived by her sister Nan Morton of London, Ontario, Canada and grandchildren Ewan Jr., Jackie, Abbas, and Alec. 
Margaret was born in Coatbridge, Scotland and raised in nearby Kilbirnie before attending the University of Glasgow. After marrying in 1951, she and Hugh lived in Leamington Spa, England; Monkton, Scotland; Montreal, Quebec, Canada; and Devon, Pennsylvania before settling in Cohasset with their growing family in 1973. Margaret enjoyed a wide range of interests and occupations over her life, including an enduring love of reading, writing, tennis, and gardening. She retired from Boston Financial Data Services in 1992 and in her later years especially enjoyed traveling widely with family and friends. 
 
A private graveside service will be held in Woodside Cemetery, Cohasset. In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Margaret may be made to the Perkins School for the Blind, 175 N. Beacon St., Watertown, MA 02472
