Saddened to learn of Patty's passing. She will be sorely missed by many. She was always great fun to be around and brought life and laughter to any gathering. She was more than willing to be there for those in need of help or assistance and did so for many people over the years.

When I first came to Scituate in 1989, Patty was one of the first people that I met and we immediately connected. We've had so much fun and a lot of laughs together. I enjoyed her quick wit, her down to earth personality and particularly watching her dance. Her high energy level and her lust for life never ceased to amaze me. Knowing Patty helped in making Scituate a special place to live. I will miss her. She was the salt of the earth and never met a stranger. May her spirit live on forever. My sincere condolences to Patty's family.

Patty was amazing in so many ways. A kiss and a hug...even a wink...and you knew she was your friend. When we were kids, our friends always asked each other, "you going to the party this weekend?" "I dunno - is Patty Dowd gonna be there?" Those parties were the best.
At the wedding of my youngest daughter, we had some folks over for a little "after party." My 81 year old father was there. Half way thru the festivities, Patty and Polly Litchfield came surging thru the door, beers in hand. She saw my dad, immediately jumped into his lap, kissed him on the lips and asked in a loud voice "do you believe in free love?" She then turned to me and said "I'm gonna be your step-mother!" Dad often asked in his later years if that "Patty girl" was around.
These are the stories that make us all "townies". And townies miss townies when they're gone. Patty will be especially missed.

Many fond memories of Patty's infectious smile, laughter, party antics and dancing will forever visit my memories. She was a bundle of energy and joy and a friend to so many.
