Dear Elliot, Richard, Penel, and Josh,
I am terribly sorry that I am not there to support you in your time of sorrow. I am away this weekend.
Your mom's passing represents the closing of an era. Ed Lincoln is the only one that I can think of that's left. I'm sure he'll make the service if at all possible. I've thought of you all often over the years as I've seen Pen, mostly at church. I hope you are each enjoying life in your own way. I'm doing my best!
We have to carry on. They did their best for us. No regrets.

Saddened to hear of the passing of this great woman. My sincerest condolences to the family. She was a the kind of person who brushed aside all the superficial nonsense and celebrated life and people as she found them. Including rustic folk like my Dad who built her some cabins and cottages on Mount Desert Island. But I most admired her love of plants and gardens from her lovely borders in Cohasset to a punt planted with nasturiums outside her door in Maine she generously cultivated nature of all kinds.
