Renda Irene (Sanborn) Gunn

Renda Irene Gunn, age 90, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT.   Renda was born April 18, 1927 in Boston, MA, and grew up in Milton, MA. She graduated from Milton High, and Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston.  Katie Gibbs was known for graduating exceptionally skilled executive secretaries. Renda is predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Paul D. Gunn, son Paul S. Gunn, and son-in-law Robert Dowling.  Renda and Paul raised four children in Canton, MA and later in Scituate, MA.  Since 2004 Renda lived with family in Canton CT.  She leaves behind her daughter Renda Dowling, Robert’s wife, of Reston, VA, daughter Pamela Rice and husband Thomas of Canton, CT, son Peter Gunn and wife Brigid of Granby, CT, and Paul’s wife Mary Sprague of Scituate. Renda found everyday joy in her thirteen beloved grandchildren Adrian, Brian, Kathryn, Christopher, Molly, Robert, Peter, Elisabeth, James, Patrick, Cailene, Alex and Graeme, their spouses and ten great grandchildren.  Renda will always be remembered for her quirky humor, love of politics, and fierce loyalty.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at St. Mary’s of the Nativity, 1 Kent Street, Scituate Harbor, MA.  Renda’s final resting place will be next to her husband at the Trinity Park Section of the Fairview Cemetery in Scituate.
