Dear Julie, Jake and Drew,

Your husband and father brightened the day of everyone he encountered.  We worked together when he was only 21 and we never lost touch.  Our last email was less than a month before he died.  He had courage and strength, inside and outside, and an extraordinary generosity of spirit that led him to share his research and experiences in order to help fellow travelers in their cancer journeys right alongside his.  I am so proud to have known him and will cherish his memory always.  Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss.

In Sympathy,

Robin Chemers Neustein

Dear Jake and Drew,
I am thinking of you both, and your mom, as you all go through what I know must be a very tough time for your family. I am sure that you both will miss him a lot, and I hope that as you move through this period of loss the memories that you have from being with your dad will help. As the summer comes to an end and Nobles approaches, many of us at school will be thinking of you guys.
Take care,

Alden Mauck

Dear Jake, Drew and Julie -  my deepest sympathies on the loss of your father and husband.  though i never knew him, I do know Jake and he is a wonderful young man.  certainly he must be carrying a part of his dad within him.  Knowing what a fanatic Jake is for the Bruins, I thought a lot about him during the Stanley Cup final.  I hope he was able to share those moments of joy with his dad.
best, mark sheeran

Julie, Jake and Drew, our sincere condolences and a few thoughts to share!
                                     FOOTPRINTS
One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. Each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonging to him and the other to the Lord.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He notice that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. "Lord you said that once I decided to follow you , you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me.

The Lord replied, my precious, precious, child I love you and would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering when you saw only one set of footprints it was ten I carried you."
