Thomas E. Horsefield, age 86 retired advertising artist for several department stores and the Patriot Ledger, died August 16, 2018. Born in Waterbury, CT, raised in East Haddam, CT. Former resident of Marshfield, MA and Abington, MA. Son of the late Thomas E. Horsefield, M.D., and Evelyn (Olsen) Horsefield, loving father of Thomas Edward Horsefield and his family of Surprise, Arizona, brother of Martha R. Horsefield of Cohasset, and survived by his former wife, Phyllis Gail (Connors) Horsefield, and several cousins.
Mr. Horsefield graduated from Dean Academy in Franklin MA, served four years in the Navy aboard the destroyer USS Hailey 556 during the Korean war. After his service he attended and graduated from the School of Practical Art in Boston and received an honorary Bachelor’s degree from the Art Institute of Boston.
A military funeral will be held at the VA Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm on September 15, 2018, at the Second Congregation Church, Cohasset, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom’s memory may be made to Dean College Scholarship Fund, 99 Main St., Franklin, MA.02038 or to the Second Congregational Church, 43 Highland Ave. Cohasset, MA 02025.
