Thomas J. Teuten, age 77, past Chairman of the Board of Rockland Trust Company and Independent Bank Coorperation, and past President and Chairman of the Board of A.W. Perry, Inc., passed away on May 3, 2017 after a brief illness.

Raised in Rockville Centre, NY, Tom was a 1962 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. After serving in the US Air Force, he spent some years in Indiana, before moving to Massachusetts in 1970 to join A.W. Perry. He was with the company until retirement in 2004 and then served as Chairman of the Board until 2012.

Mr. Teuten became a Director of Rockland Trust in 1975 and served until 2012 when he retired as Chairman.

Tom leaves his wife, Diane (Wilcox) Teuten, three children, Pamela Teuten of Kingston, Christopher Teuten and wife Susan of Pembroke, and Dina Crowley of Scituate, seven grandchildren: Cameron, Frank and Stephanie Crowley, Andrew and Scott Patrick, and Josephine and Sarah Teuten. He is also survived by two sisters, Gail Noyes of Plymouth and Pamela Fessler of Rockville Centre, NY. He was the brother of the late Craig S. Teuten of Kingston, MA.

Family and Friends will gather to celebrate Tom’s life on Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 3 – 6 pm in the McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 30 Central Street (off Rt 123, near State Police Barracks), Norwell Center, MA. 02061. Donations to honor Tom may be made to the Salvation Army, New England Home for Little Wanderers, 10 Guest St., Boston, MA. 02135 or to a charity of one’s choice. 

The family would like to thank the staff at the Norwell Visiting Nurses and Pat Roche Hospice House in Hingham for their outstanding care and kindness.
