William J Clary

April 2, 1936 ~ March 12, 2017 (age 80) 80 Years Old


WILLIAM JOSEPH CLARY, Esq. – peacefully passed away March 12, 2017 after a period of failing health.  Born in Pittsfield, MA to James and Margaret Clary.  With a gift for math and chemistry, he earned a full scholarship to the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and graduated in 1958. After many years in the pharmacy industry, he entered New England School of Law, and was admitted to the Bar in 1972.  He practiced law in Scituate and was a member of the Plymouth County Bar Association for over 40 years.  While handling a variety of cases, the highlight of his career was presenting a case before the Supreme Court of the United States, in Washington, DC.  Later in life, he added Tennis Instructor to his resume, sharing his love of the game. 

He will be forever missed by his children, Jennifer & Michael Rohnstock of Scituate, William Clary Jr. & Kaela Forker of Toronto ON Canada and Melissa Clary of South Boston and his former wife and mother of his children Barbara McCabe of Scituate.  He is also survived by his grandchildren Julie, Caroline and Michael Jr. Rohnstock and Nathaniel and Hayden Clary.  He is also survived by his brother Brian Clary of Florida and his sister Margaret Stewart of Pittsfield, MA, along with many nieces, nephews and close friends.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Nativity Church in Scituate Harbor, on Saturday March 18 at 12 noon.  At his request there will be no wake. Burial will take place at a later date. As a tribute to his love of tennis and in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Scituate Youth Center to support their tennis program for children in Scituate.  Scituate Youth Center P.O.
