IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Agata (Mazza)
Conforto
April 13, 1936 – July 18, 2024
Agata Conforto of Hull, Massachusetts formerly from Palermiti, CZ, Italy passed away on July 18, 2024 with her family by her side. She was the oldest of four children, and the wife of the late Guisto Conforto who passed in 2004. She is survived by her daughters Lidia Truglia, wife of late Mario Truglia and Anna Pungitore, wife of Sergio Pungitore. She was "Amau" to her five grandchildren Assunta D'Adamo, Domenic Truglia, Anthony Truglia, Michael Pungitore and Annemarie Cinquegrano. She was especially happy that she lived long enough to see her ten great grandchildren.
Agata was a homemaker in Italy until she came to the United States at 36 years old. She immediately started working as a seamstress to help support her family. She loved to garden and making things from scratch. She always canned tomatoes and made wine in the fall, and sausages in the winter. When there was a celebration, she always made her homemade amaretti cookies.
Agata was a woman of deep and profound faith. She was devoted catholic and went to church daily. It was not unusual for those who visited her to find her praying the Rosary. She had great inner strength and enthusiasm for life, always marching forward.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, July 25th from 4-7pm at McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home in Cohasset, MA. Agata will be celebrated at a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Anthony's Church in Cohasset on Friday, July 26th at 11am. Relatives and friends invited to attend. A reception will be held immediately following the burial at the St. Anthony Parish Center across from the church.
