Aida  (Barese) Riccio, of Norwell January 18, 2013 beloved wife of the late Armando J. Riccio Jr. and devoted mother of Debra A. Levy and her husband William of East Falmouth;

Michelle Bracken and her husband James of Marshfield. Loving Nonna to Brendan, Grace, Lauren, Joshua, A.J., Anna, Emily, and Caroline. Sister of Alfred Barese of Dedham;  Albert Barese of Braintree, Giovina Marciani and Rosa Barese both of Italy and the late  Domenic Barese, Anna Papile and Viola LaBarba

At 44 years old, Aida became the proprietor of AJ's Exxon in Hingham upon the death of     her husband, Armando "AJ' Riccio, in 1977. After several years at the helm, she sold AJ's to her nephew, current owner, Richard DeMelis. Aida turned her passion for cooking into a labor of love when she went to work for the Norwell School Department, cooking for the children at the Sparrell and Cole Schools. In her free time she loved to knit items for her family. She faithfully volunteered at the apartment complex where she lived and at the Norwell Knoll Nursing Home, right up until they welcomed her so caringly as a resident in September 2012. Aida will be lovingly remembered for her courage, selflessness, her love of family and friends and most of all as Nonna to her grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday January 22, 2013 at 10 AM In McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 30 Central St. (off rt 123, near State Police Barracks), Norwell Center. Visiting hours Monday, January 21, 2013 from 4-8 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home. Interment Washington Street Cemetery, Norwell. In lieu of flowers, donations in Aida's memory may be made to the Norwell Knoll Activities Fund, do Norwell Knoll Nursing Home 329 Washington Street. Norwell, MA 02061.
