IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alan R.
Soudakoff
November 1, 2010
Alan Soudakoff, 52, died at home Monday, after a valiant fight with cancer. Alan, son of Jack and Beatrice Soudakoff, was born in New York City. He grew up in the Bronx and later New Hyde Park, NY with his brother David, who now lives in California. Alan is remembered for his humor, quick wit and warm smile.
After graduating from Harvard College in 1980, Alan attended New York University Law School. He was a member of both the New York and Massachusetts Bar. Upon completion of his degree, he practiced antitrust law for nine years with the Federal Trade Commission, Washington, DC. In 1992, Alan received a master's degree in computer engineering from the University of Maryland. Alan's career allowed him to combine his legal training with his appreciation of the power of computer technology to better serve his clients. Since 1993, he was a legal technology consultant, serving both major law firms as well as the Legal Services community.
One of Alan's co-workers described Alan as "exemplifying the good qualities of a well rounded lawyer and technologist, and besides being a brilliant and caring man, Alan had a calming presence and engaging sense of humor."
Alan is survived by his long-time best friend and wife, Diane Mundt, with whom Alan enjoyed international travel excursions, but also loved sunset walks along Nantasket Beach, Friday dinners at Mezzo Mare and Saturday brunch at Toast.
In addition to his mother and brother, he is survived by two uncles and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Donations in honor of Alan may be made to the Massachusetts General Hospital / Harvard University HOPES Program, which improves the quality of life and well-being of Cancer Center patients, their families and friends through free wellness services plus education and support workshops. Visit http://www.massgeneral.org/cancer/hopes/donate.aspx on the web to make a donation. Diane and Alan benefitted from HOPES and wish to support them in caring for other cancer patients and their families.
