Alice Marie (Coleman) Riley of Cohasset, MA and Sebastian, FL passed away peacefully on June 7, 2013.
Born November 10, 1939, Alice Marie was the only child of the late William R. and Eleanor T. (Albiani) Coleman and was raised in Newton and Hull, MA. She graduated from Newton Country Day School and the Newton College of the Sacred Heart. Outside her home she enjoyed careers as a special education teacher and as a licensed Realtor.
Alice cherished her family and friends. She will be missed and remembered by her loving and devoted husband of nearly 50 years, Robert J. Riley; her children and their spouses, William J. and MaryChris Riley, Elizabeth and Jeffrey Barden, Susan and Trevor Young, and Nancy E. and Gregory Porter; and her 9 grandchildren whom she adored, Andrew, Angela, Clara, Grant, Jillian, Justin, Lynn, Stephen, and Timothy. Her infant son Robert J. Riley, Jr., predeceased her.
Alice's beloved extended family includes her "brother" Tony Caldarone and his wife, Joyce, Gene and Helen Caldarone, Ginger and John J. Riley and their families, plus numerous cousins. She was blessed with many wonderful friends, including many very special Sacred Heart friends.
In addition to spending time with family and friends, Alice loved music. She founded and managed The NEWTONES at Newton College in 1958 and in retirement was a member of the Sebastian Singers and the St. Sebastian church choir, Sebastian, Florida. She also enjoyed travelling, motorhoming, knitting, and the Boston Red Sox.
Visiting hours will be at McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer St, Cohasset, on Monday, July 1 from 3-7 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 2 at 10 am at St. Anthony's Church, 10 Summer St, Cohasset, followed by a reception in the parish hall. Interment will take place at Milton Cemetery after the reception.
