Alice J. (McMonagle) Hamer, 88 years of age. Of Scituate, originally from Hull passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025.

Devoted and loving wife of Bryant "Mike" Hamer. Loving mother of Steven B. Hamer and wife Patty of Burlington VT and the late Sandra E. Hamer Sullivan. Loving daughter of the late Wallace McMonagle and Vera (Waterhouse) McMonagle. Dear sister of Lois Lichtenberger of Hull and Janice Kroboth of Monument, CO.

Loving grandmother of Stephen Sullivan, Makayla Sullivan, Forrest Hamer and Walker Hamer.

Alice worked as a grade school teacher in her working years but her real calling was her church and the lord. She volunteered her time endlessly with her community and with her beloved Harbor United Methodist Church in Scituate. From the church fairs, cookie sales and anything in-between that she could be a part of and lend a helping hand and a warm smile.

She was a "avid" student of the bible. Trying to embody daily what she so vitally believed.  It was a very important and crucial part of her being.

Alice was pivotal with her involvement in the early stages and inception of the Scituate Food Pantry and continued many years thereafter with this plight within the Scituate community and beyond.

Along with her beloved church family. Alice relished her work at home. Being a wife, mother and then as a devoted, loving and nurturing grandmother.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 from the hours of 2-4pm at the Harbor United Methodist Church-55 First Parish Road, Scituate, MA. Relatives and friends invited to attend.

Funeral will be held the next day on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at 10:30am at the Harbor United Methodist Church-55 First Parish Road, Scituate, MA.

A collation in her memory will be held at the Harbor United Methodist Church immediately following the funeral.

Burial will be private.
