Ann K. Barres, 62, of Hilton Head, SC, formerly Hingham, MA, passed away on October 6, 2025 at Brigham and Women's Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Wawautosa, WI in 1962 and the second daughter of Robert F. and Maryalice (Moersen) Koehne, she graduated from Boston College with her husband in 1985.  Ann spent 21 years in the retail industry, most notably as a buyer for Tiffany's and Director of Merchandising at Talbots.  She contributed service time to her childrens' schools, as an advisor, PTO president and advancement board member.  She also participated in many other charitable endeavors and the Hingham Garden Club.  Later in life, she often could be found in her Hilton Head gardens doting over her Crinum Lillies and Camelias.  Gardening was a family passion, as was tennis – Ann was an all-state doubles player in high school.  Without question, Ann's greatest passion was the well-being and success of her daughters.

She was the wife of her college sweetheart William M. Barres for over 37 years and the sister of Susan Koehne of Milwaukee, WI, Sarah Lambrecht of Colgate, WI, and Robert Koehne (deceased).  She leaves behind two dearly loved daughters, Katherine (Holy Cross, '20) and Elizabeth Barres (Boston College, '24) now both of New York City.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Mass on Friday, October 17, 10am at St. Anthony's church in Cohasset, MA.
