Arthur P. Rodrigues, age 84, of Scituate, passed away on January 13, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Rodrigues was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the US Army and earning two Bronze Service Stars. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for over 44 years with Alan R. Wheeler Co. Mr. Rodrigues was also a farmer and for over 60 years he worked his farm and helped start several other small farms in the area.

Mr. Rodrigues is survived by his children, Danny of Scituate, Debbie Pina of Brockton, David of Scituate, Donald of Duxbury, Dennis of Cohasset, Doug of Scituate, Denise Rodrigues of Marshfield, Dolores Schiavo of Marshfield, Diane Silvia of Cohasset, Dwayne of Plymouth, Dereck of Rhode Island, and Dana of Hull. He was the grandfather of 34 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and he was lovingly anticipating the birth of two more great grandchildren. He was the brother Duffie, Ruthy, Carrie, Rollie, Bobby, and the late Jimmy, Nelson, Joyce, and Margie. He is also survived by 21 nieces and nephews, as well as many more family members.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 10 am in St. Anthony Church, 10 Summer St., Cohasset. Visiting hours Thursday, Jan. 16, from 3-8 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer St (across from St. Anthony Church), Cohasset. Interment Cudworth Cemetery, Scituate, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Mr. Rodrigues may be made to the V.A. West Roxbury or to Wounded Warrior Project.
