Audrey (Cummings) Rice, age 97, of Norwell, died peacefully at the Royal Norwell Nursing Home on February 4, 2015. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael J. Rice. Audrey was the devoted mother of Judith Schraut of Marshfield, Helen Legere of No. Weymouth, Michael F. and wife Diana of Pembroke,  the late Edward Rice and surviving wife Patricia of Kingston and the late Jane Keller of Fryeburg, ME. She was the sister of Margaret (Cummings) Rice of Quincy, Dorothy Griffine of Hanover, Catherine Wheeler of Rockland, Genevieve Paulding od Plymouth, and the late Barbara Migre, Honey Rossitter, Richard Cummings, Norma Whithers, Charles Cummings and Edward Cummings. Audrey is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-gandchildren.

Audrey was a graduate of Norwell High School, Class of  1934. She worked as a secretary for the Carney Hospital and Mass. General Hospital. In 1967, Audrey opened the Village Sub Shop in North Scituate, which she owned and operated until its sale in 1987.

Visiting hours, Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015 from 10 am-2 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 30 Central St. (off Rt 123, near State Police Barracks), Norwell Center. Service and burial to be held at a later date.
