B. Catherine "Cathy" (Rayson) Thomas, age 76, of Scituate, peacefully fell asleep in Jesus at home on August 15, 2011 surrounded by love from her children, grandchildren, and friends. Devoted wife of the late Herbert P. Thomas. Loving sister of Sue Flux and her husband Roy, and the late Derek Rayson. Wonderful mother to Glyn and wife Liza, Guy and wife Hai Jing, Gordon and wife Paula, Gavin and wife Dianne, Georgina and husband Michael, Jillian and husband Mark. In addition, doting grandmother of Craig, Kyle, Rhys, Rhiannon, Ryan, Caroline, Jennifer, Michael, Stephanie, Joseph, and great-grandmother of Tristan. Dear friend of Yvonne Brice and Joan Bronniche of Linden Woods.

Friendly and respectful towards all, but first and foremost, a wonderful mother and grandmother. Cathy worked as a brilliant medical secretary in Boston, a fun-loving receptionist at the Accord Pond Racquet Club, and finally as a devoted driver of Special Needs Children. Our mom loved all phases of her life, but especially being the loving matriarch of her family.

A private graveside service for immediate family will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2011 in Union Cemetery, Scituate. Relatives and friends invited to visiting hours on Friday, Aug. 19 from 5:30-8:30 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer St. (across from St. Anthony Church), Cohasset. in lieu of flowers, donations in Cathy's memory may be made to the New England Shelter for Homeless Vets, 17 Court Street, Boston, MA 02108.
