Barbara T. (Kinnear) Hernan- of Cohasset, formerly of Sunrise, FL. and Hull, MA. Age 84 died on October 22, 2011. Beloved wife of 49 years to Donald "Dutchy" Hernan and loving mother of Michele Rourke and husband David of Pembroke, Cheryl E. Hernan of Cohasset, Michael Hernan and wife Tiffany of Plantation, FL. She was the sister of Doris Menice of Hull and the late John and Thomas Kinnear. Devoted grandmother of Jordyn and Michael Rourke of Pembroke, and Michala and Taryn Hernan of Plantation, FL. She is also survived by 26 loving nieces and nephews.

Born in Milton, Mrs. Hernan was raised in Hull and graduated from Hingham High School. A graduate of Boston University, she had a degree in Physical Education and taught in Hull and Cohasset for some years. Barbara also worked as a teacher with Kinder Care Learning Center in both Florida and Massachusetts. She was blessed with the gift of teaching, listening and giving caring advice to others.  Her most cherished time was spent with her family, friends and her most precious gifts from God, her grandchildren.  She was loved by so many and touched so many lives.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Oct. 28, 2011 at 10 am in St. Anthony's Church, Cohasset. Visiting hours Thursday, Oct. 27 from 4-8 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer St. (across from St. Anthony's Church), Cohasset. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara's memory may be made to St. Jude Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.
