Barbara Tortorella-Coyne, age 70, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 24, 2019. Loving wife of Edward J. Coyne. Beloved mother of John Coyne and wife Emily of Pembroke, Matt Coyne of Norwell, and the late Troy R. Coyne. Sister of Frank Tortorella, MD of Richmond, VA, and Charles Tortorella of Short Hill, NJ. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and family.

Barbara helped and served others by working as a social worker for Catholic Charities of Boston and St. Mary of the Nativity, Scituate. She gave years of service helping others professionally in the field of alcohol and substance abuse. Barbara always put others first, especially her family.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Barbara's life during visiting hours on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 from 5-8 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 30 Central St. (off Rt. 123, near State Police Barracks), Norwell Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 10 am in St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent St., Scituate Harbor.
