Kerins, Brian, age 78, of Scituate, formerly of Dorchester, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026. Brian was the beloved husband of Maureen Kerins, with whom he shared 46 years of marriage. He was the loving father of Brian Kerins and his wife, Cindy, of Quincy; Jonathan Kerins of Scituate; and stepfather to Thomas DeWitt and his wife, Toni, of Hanover; Uncle to Christopher Barbour and his wife, Pamela of Scituate.
Son of the late Christine and John Kerins.
He was the dear brother of Jay Kerins of Dorchester, Timothy Kerins of Sutton, and Christopher Kerins of Braintree.
Brian was a proud grandfather to Sean and Ryan DeWitt, Maeve, Jack, Claire, and Brayden Kerins. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was happiest when surrounded by family.
Brian will be remembered as a cherished son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was known for his strong work ethic and as a skilled HVAC contractor, Brian owned and operated his own business for more than 40 years.
Outside of work, Brian enjoyed the outdoors. He looked forward to hunting trips in New York and loved fishing in Costa Rica, where he created many lasting memories with family and lifelong friends. Whether working hard, spending time in nature, or enjoying the company of those he loved, Brian lived a full and meaningful life.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026 from 4-7pm at the McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home-1 Summer Street, Cohasset, MA 02025.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 10, 2026 at 10am at St. Mary of the Nativity Church-1 Kent Street, Scituate, MA. Relatives and friends invited to attend. Interment will be private.
