Cameron M. Baird, age 87, of Cohasset, formerly of Scituate passed away peacefully on Nov. 23, 2013. He was the son of the late Charles Campbell Baird and Marion Gordon (MacChlerie) Baird. Cam is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ann (Graham) Baird, daughters, Heather Lashier of Johnson City NY, Laurie Ducey of Saunderstown RI, and Carolyn Chamberlain of Scituate. Adored grandfather of Garrett Bair, Colin Lashier, Eric Ducey, Gregg Ducey, Lindsay Simpson, and Cam Chamberlain and great-grandfather of Maguire Cameron Lashier and Graham Colin Lashier.

Born in Quincy, Cam was a graduate of Thayer Academy and received his Bachelors from Norwich University, Northfield, VT, and a Master's degree in Chemistry from Middlebury College in Middlebury, VT. He served proudly in the US Navy during WWII and was stationed in the Pacific aboard the destroyer, USS Harwood. Mr. Baird was a chemist at Baird & McGuire, Inc. in Holbrook, where he was also President of the company for ten years, until his retirement in 1993. He was then employed by Drexel Chemical Co. in Memphis, TN until his retirement in 1999.

Cameron served for many years on the Board of Governors for Chemical Specialties Manufacturers Assoc. (CSMA) of New York, NY. In addition, he was a corporator for the Randolph Savings Bank in Randolph and was on the Board of the South Scituate Savings Bank in Norwell. For many years after his retirement, Cameron volunteered as a driver for handicapped people in Scituate, as well as being a driver for FISH. He was also a longtime Usher at St. Francis Xavier Cabrini Church in Scituate. Cameron loved his family, sailing, and Scotland. He was very active in the Satuit Boat Club, where he served on the race committee and is past Commodore. He and Ann traveled many times to Scotland, where they would visit his family home in Bridge of Allan, Stirlingshire.

He also placed tremendous value on education, and it was his goal to see his children and grandchildren graduate from college. With his help and loving encouragement, Cameron's dream in coming to fruition.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 10 am in St. Anthony Church, 10 Summer St., Cohasset. Memorial Visiting hours Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013 from 4-7pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer St (across from St. Anthony Church), Cohasset. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Cameron may be made to the Beacon Hospice, Inc., Resnik Rd. Ste. 3, Plymouth, MA. 02360.
