Camille "Connie" Prescott Hudson, age 98, a Norwell resident for 60 years, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 13, 2023, at the Webster at Rye Assisted Living Community in Rye, NH, where she had resided since 2021. She was married for 68 years to Donald Sears Hudson, who predeceased her in 2017.

Connie was born August 27, 1924, in Laconia, NH., the daughter of the late Oscar Coleman Prescott and Ruth Pearson Prescott. She grew up in Laconia, graduated from Laconia High School, and then received her BS degree in Accounting from Simmons University in Boston in 1946.

Connie retired from the Town of Norwell in 1992 after 16 years of service, including three elected terms as Treasurer/Collector, and as assistant town accountant for the seven years prior.  She was a past president of the Norwell Women's Club, South Shore Simmons Club, Cole School PTA, and area chairperson for United Way.

Connie and Don were charter members of the United Church of Christ, Norwell in 1965. They devoted themselves to the growth and success of UCC Norwell.  Connie served on several committees, including the Ministry of Caring for several decades.

She is survived by her son, Robert Donald Hudson and his wife Gretchen, of Rye Beach, NH, her daughter, Nancy Hudson Walkins and her husband Harold, of Lovettsville, VA, her sister, Roberta Prescott Hansen of Tully, NY, her granddaughter, Ashley Reiss Gillespie of South Boston, her grandson, Gregory Prescott Hudson of Hoboken, NJ, and, her greatest joy in most recent years, her great grandchildren -  Charlotte and Boden Gillespie, and Camden Hudson. She also has several nieces and nephews.

Connie was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend, always putting needs of other before herself.  She will be greatly missed by all.

Family and Friends will gather to celebrate Connie at a Memorial Service on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Church of Christ, 460 Main Street, Norwell. Visiting hours on Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 4-7 pm at the CUSHING MEMORIAL HALL-673 Main Street, (Rt. 123, near State Police Barracks), Norwell Center. In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Connie may be made to the UCC  Norwell Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 501, Norwell, MA 02061, or a charity of one's choice.
