Charles K. Peterson (Ken), age 69, of Norwell, formerly of Norwood, passed away
peacefully in his sleep on Sunday evening, February 9, surrounded by his family, after a long and courageous battle with an aggressive form of cancer. He was a Navy Vietnam veteran who was awarded a Bronze Star while serving overseas aboard the USS Oriskany in the Gulf of Tonkin in Southeast Asia.

He recently retired from Verizon where he enjoyed working for more than 4 decades. It was there that he installed and maintained power equipment to central offices all over New England. He was also a member of the IBEW, Local 103 and a 1962 graduate of Norwood High School.

His favorite pastime was spending time in his barn, where he thoroughly enjoyed
restoring numerous antique trucks and vehicles over the years and listening to the Boston Red Sox during baseball season. He enjoyed boating for several years off the shores of Hull and Cohasset, and in later years off Chatham.

Charles was the dear husband of Ellen (Mogan) Peterson of Norwell, to whom he was married for nearly 42 years. Loving father of Jesse Borraccino and her husband, Ernest of Harwich, and Charles K. Peterson, Jr. of Norwell. He was the beloved grandfather "Gampy" of Adam Borraccino of Harwich, and the beloved brother of Marlyn A. Peterson of Norwood. He was the son of the late Charles W. Peterson and Alicia (Lawlor)  Peterson of Chatham.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 14, 2014 at 10 am in St. Anthony Church, Cohasset followed by interment at V.A. Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne, MA. at 1:15 pm. Visiting hours Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014 from 3-7 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer St. (across from St. Anthony Church), Cohasset.
