Christopher R. Sullivan, 57, of Scituate, MA and of Florida, lost his battle with cancer on Monday, October 20 at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston. Chris was an
accomplished lawyer, serving as an Assistant Attorney General in the state of
Massachusetts, as well as practicing in New Hampshire, Colorado and Florida, but
more importantly a loving father, son, brother, and friend to all. His greatest
accomplishment was sharing with every person he encountered the gift of himself,
which was substantial. Chris had a boundless energy, an unquenchable thirst for life,
compassion for anyone in need, a wacky sense of humor, an infectious laugh and a
playfulness that belied his age; the undisputed "life of the party." He was impossible not
to love and brought joy and laughter to everyone he encountered.

Chris was a big man, and was larger than life in many ways. "A Son of a Son of a
Sailor," he loved the sea and was an avid and accomplished life-long sailor himself,
racing J/24s for over 25 years as well as competing in St. Petersburg to Mexico,
Newport to Bermuda, the Figawi and Sydney to Hobart races to name a few. After
learning he had cancer, his friends gifted him with a J/24 to race for the summer which
he aptly named, "Sullivan's Wake." Sully was an excellent athlete. A collegiate
waterskier, he learned to barefoot as a teenager and continued to do so into his fifties.
He also continued to compete in a variety of road races, bi- and triathlons on an almost
monthly basis in support of many worthy causes.

His spirit was never deterred by his cancer (the big "C" as he called it) and he continued
to be a beacon of hope to all those around him. He started a "Sully Strong" Facebook
page that he used not only to update friends, family and followers about his journey, but
to share inspirational messages with his signature humor and to fundraise for Dana-
Farber Cancer Institute. He challenged all to do "3 for the Road to Recovery" and
participate in three sporting events this year for their own health. In August, just days
after being discharged from the hospital, Chris ran in the Falmouth Road Race for the
Dana-Farber team, and was featured in the Boston Globe for his efforts and indomitable
spirit.

Chris is survived and sorely missed by his three children, Patrick R. Sullivan and
Christopher R. Sullivan, both of Boca Raton, Florida, and Jacqueline R. Sullivan, of
Miami, Florida, his loving soulmate Kimberly R. Howard of Littleton, NH and Longboat
Key, Florida, and his brothers Mark L. Sullivan and his wife Toni, of Easton, Maryland,
Gregory V. Sullivan and his wife Ellen of Hingham, Massachusetts, and his mother
Eleanor Sullivan of Scituate, Massachusetts.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's of the Nativity Church, 14 Edward Foster Road, Scituate, MA. Relatives and Friends welcomed. Visiting hours on Friday, October 24th from 4:00-8:00 at the McNamara-Sparrell Funeral
