Claire T. Shields, age 89, of Scituate, passed away peacefully on Sept. 6, 2017. Daughter of the late Michael J. and Catherine (Mulhern) Roche. Mother of Catherine Shields Lavigne of Scituate and her late husband James E. Lavigne. Grandmother of Nicholas A. Lavigne of Weymouth, and Kristine J. Lavigne of Scituate. Great-grandmother of Camrin M. Lavigne and Steven A. Henderson. Sister of Michael Roche of Nantucket, Ann Downey of W. Roxbury, David Roche of South Dennis, and the late Dorothy Roche Keylor, Richard Roche and Robert Roche.

Claire attended Boston Univ. She developed a passion for real estate, earning a Graduate of Realtors Institute and Certified Residential Specialist. She worked for Coldwell Banker, Jack Conway, and Dean & Hamilton Brokerages throughout her career. She served on the Plymouth County Board Real Estate Board and was a Girl Scout Leader. She loved sailing, nature and was well-traveled.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, Sept. 15, 2017 at 10 am in St. Anthony Church, Cohasset. Interment to follow St. Mary's Cemetery, Scituate.
