Clarence William "Bill" Scott of Norwell, MA passed away surrounded by family on September 28, 2024 of complications of Parkinson's disease.

Born in Dover, NH in 1936, he was the son of Charles Field and Beryl Palmer Scott. Bill graduated from Dover High School. He served with the New Hampshire National Guard and subsequently with the US Army Reserve in Army Intelligence units at the Boston Army Base. Bill earned a BS and an MBA from Northeastern University where he met his wife Marian.

His professional career was in accounting and computer science. In 1986 Bill formed Escura Software, Inc, a computer software consulting firm. He also was an adjunct professor at Quincy College and on special assignment from Massasoit College taught inmates at Bridgewater State Hospital and the Old Colony Corrections Institution.

Bill will long be remembered for his kind and gentle spirit and infectious smile. Among his lifelong hobbies were military history, scuba diving, ham radio and flying. In 1985 Bill was president of the Bay State Aqua Club. He also held an extra license in ham radio serving as Treasurer of the Genesis Radio Society.

Mr. Scott is survived by his wife Marian, son Douglas Scott and his wife Meagan of Marshfield, daughter Margaret Verlicco and her husband Joseph also of Marshfield, as well as four grandchildren Connor, William, Emma and Liam.

A Celebration of his life will be held at the United Church of Christ in Norwell at 11:00 on Friday, October 4th. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Friendship Home, 458 Main St, Norwell, MA 02061.
