D. Bruce Sladen, a longtime resident of Hingham, formerly of Scituate, age of 67, went eternally fishing on November 4, 2012 after a long battle of kidney failure and heart disease.
Bruce worked as an electrician with his own company and more recently for Macdavis Reality before being placed on disability due to illness. He was predeceased by his mother Gwendolyn Tobey Wyman, brothers Billy Wyman of Maine and Barry Sladen of Scituate, who is waiting to have his fishing buddy back.
Bruce is survived by his loving daughter, recently engaged, Heather Sladen of Weymouth, former wife and longtime friend Susan Sladen of Hingham, his sister in law Judith Sladen of Scituate, his sisters Donna Sladen and Betsy Waddell both of Marshfield, and Linda Scribner of New Hampshire. Bruce is also survived by his father Donald E. Sladen and wife Carol of Scituate.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012 at 2 pm in the Second Congregational Church, 43 Highland Ave., Cohasset Common. If desired, donations to honor Bruce may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5 Manly St., W. Bridgewater, MA. 02379.
