David H. Cranton, age 80, of Hanover, formerly of Norwell. Beloved husband of Veronica M. (Coughlin) Cranton. Devoted father of Steven H. Cranton and wife Shirley of Hanover, Gwen P. Hunt of Hanson. Stepfather of Stephen Methot and Cathy of New York, Craig Methot and Allison of Hanover. Grandfather of Craig and Cole Methot of Hanover, and Joseph Hardiman of Florida. Brother of Jon Cranton of Wenham, Rosalind Cranton of Halifax, and Camilla Holt of Marshfield.

Mr. Cranton worked for New England Telephone as a lineman for over 42 years. He was veteran of the US Army.

Visiting hours Thursday, May 23, 2013 from 5-8 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 30 Central St. (off Rt. 123, near State Police Barracks), Norwell Center. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 12 noon in Hanover Center Cemetery, 62 Silver St. Hanover, Ma. If desired, donations to honor Mr. Cranton may be made to a charity of one's choice.
