David Eli Jones, 78, of Norwell, MA passed away on February 16, 2026 at his home in Norwell surrounded by his children.
He was born in Brockton, MA in 1947 and was the youngest child of Clarence Jones and Stella (Campbell) Jones. He was one of 5 children. He earned his Master’s Degree in Accounting from Bentley College and spent the majority of his accounting career working for National Medical Care/Fresenius Medical Care as an accountant and eventually a facility administrator. Upon retiring from accounting, he worked as a licensed realtor and finally for the Town of Norwell in the school system as a janitor.
He is survived by his children, Chris Jones (wife Nanette), of Sagamore Beach, Daniel Jones (wife Janice) of Saxton’s River VT, Marianne (Jones) Williams (husband Matthew) of Mashpee. He was preceded in death by daughter Michelle (Jones) Wolf. He leaves behind 8 grandchildren: Colby and Chloe Jones (children of Chris and Nanette), Christopher John Leary (son of Janice and John Leary), Mary Margaret Jones, and Xavier Jones (children of Daniel and Janice), Dylan Williams (son of Marianne and Matthew), and Evan and Nathan Wolf (son of Michelle and Chris Wolf).
Dave loved his children and grandchildren which was evident in everything he did. He had a unique ability to make friends wherever he went. He loved to read, take the grandchildren on adventures to King Richard’s Faire, plays, concerts, Disney World, float on the Saco and just about anything else that was fun he could think of.
He was an avid athlete in his younger years, participating in track and field and basketball in high school and college. He rarely missed a hockey, soccer, or baseball game of his 3 children and was always present for events throughout their lives.
Family and friends are invited to attend the wake to be held on Saturday, March 7th, 2026 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 30 Central St, Norwell. Dress is casual-comfortable.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Dave’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society at American Cancer Society">American Cancer Society
