David Gary Papuga, age 77, of Norwell, passed away on January 12, 2015 at home surrounded by loved ones. Dr. Papuga was the husband of the late Carol Ann (Forcht) and the devoted father of David C. Papuga of Hanover and the late Damon B. Papuga and the late Kristen Ann Papuga. He was the adored grandfather of Rose Papuga and Kristen Ann Papuga, as well as the great-grandfather of Sophie Papuga Gallagher and Shane Papuga Gallagher.
Dr. Papuga was born in Cleveland, OH. A Graduate of Cathedral Latin High School, Class of 1955, he was part of an outstanding football team that won a state championship and was later inducted into the Ohio High School Football Hall of Fame. Dr. Papuga attended, Univ. of Dayton, OH and received a B.S. from Ohio Univ. He graduated with his DDS from Case Western Univ. and Boston Univ. School of Graduate Dentistry, with a specialty training in Periodontology. Dr. Papuga was a member of the South Shore Dental and Mass. Dental Societies, as well as the American Dental Assoc. and American Academy of Periodontology.
Dr. Papuga served in the US Air Force, being honorably discharged at the rank of Captain. He was a world traveler, avid cyclist, talented photographer and a race car buff.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of His Life will be held on January 24, 2015 at 11 am in the United Church of Christ, 460 Main St., Norwell, MA. 02061.
