Denise C. (Cummings) Desmond of Marshfield, formerly of Cohasset, died May 5, 2014, at home, surrounded by family. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul A. Desmond; devoted mother of Ellen Marie Hasenfus of Scituate, Lawrence P. Desmond and his wife Maria J. of Marshfield; loving grandmother of Kade D. and Shelby Hasenfus, Megan and Emma Desmond. Denise was a retired school teacher, having taught at several Natick elementary schools, as well as overseas in Egypt and Japan. Denise received her undergraduate degree from Bridgewater State College and her masters from Boston University. She was a member of the Garden Club in Cohasset, Social Service League and Cohasset League of Women Voters.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Anthony Church, Cohasset, Thursday, at 11 a.m. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 -7 p.m. at the McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer St., Cohasset. Interment in Old Calvary Cemetery, Roslindale. The family would like to thank her caregivers, Laura and Nicole.
