Dennis W. Buettner, age 68, a longtime Norwell resident, passed away on January 15, 2013. Dennis was the beloved husband of Marlaine (Fullerton) and the devoted father of Mark Liebert and Jacquie Sheehan of Whitman, Michelle Lincoln and her husband, Brett of Scituate, and Wayne Buettner and his wife, Catherine of Canton. He was the adoring grandfather of Justin, Shawna, Jake, Sarah, Christopher, Joshua and Sean. He was the brother of Larry Buettner and his wife Lyn and uncle of Nicole and Michelle. He is also survived by his aunt Barbara Walsh and her family of Acton, and 4 sisters-in-law and their families of Cape Cod, Florida, Arizona and Wisconsin.

Dennis was a retired Police Officer, Town of Marshfield. He also was a part time Norwell Police Officer and a former rigger and security guard at General Dynamics. He was a graduate of Norfolk County Agricultural High School. Mr. Buettner was a member of the Marshfield Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid boater, fisherman, hunter and had a passion for cars, but he took his greatest pleasure from his family, home and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 11 am in the First Baptist Church, Hanover. Relatives and friends invited to honor Dennis at visiting hours on Friday, January 18, 2013 from 4-8 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 30 Central St. (off Rt. 123, near State Police Barracks), Norwell Center.
