Dorothy A. O'Connell, 86, of Cohasset, formerly of Roxbury , died peacefully at home with her family by her side on Saturday, April 23, 2022.

Dorothy was predeceased by her beloved husband William J O'Connell.

She was a devoted mother to Annemarie and her husband Don Gould of Orleans, Susan of Abington, Bill of Boston, John and his wife Teresa of Dublin Ohio and Bob and his wife Michele of Somerville.

A devoted grandmother to 6 grandchildren: Caroline, DJ, Kathleen, Robert, Will and Anna and predeceased by Katherine.

Dorothy was a graduate of Boston College. As well as raising her family, she had a working career and held a number of positions and particularly enjoyed her time spent as the Executive Assistant to the President of Boston Whaler. In her later years, Dorothy found fulfillment working for the non-profit organization Facing History and Ourselves.

Dorothy thoroughly enjoyed sailing with her husband and family and friends. She loved gathering family and friends at her home for sharing meals and conversations.

She was a long time and very active member of the Glastonbury Abbey community.

Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, Charles J and Bessie (Mulrooney) Campbell, and her siblings, Charles Jr, Eleanor Callahan, Anne Kelley and Paul Campbell.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Glastonbury Abbey in Hingham Monday May 2nd at 10:00 am. A reception will follow immediately at the Abbey Morcone Center.
