Dorris Evelyn (Bliss) Pizzotti, of Norwell, age 91, passed away on December 14, 2013. Ageless in spirit, mind and body, and only defined in years by the earth's revolution around the sun, our amazing Dorris has passed on. She was born in Plymouth, MA in 1922, daughter of Frederic and Dorris Bliss. A graduate of Plymouth High School, and the Univ. of Vermont. Dorris was employed by Aetna Casuality Surety Insurance Co. in New York City and then the Fire and Maine Insurance Co in Springfield, MA, where she met her future husband, Alfred Pizzotti who was also from Plymouth. Dorris taught in the Silver Lake School system from 1962 to 1991 and was a substitute teacher in the Norwell Public Schools until recently.  Beloved wife of the late, Alfred Pizzotti, loving sister of Fred Bliss and wife Catherine of Maine and nieces, Amy Farrell, Susan Mahoney, and nephew Dale Bliss. Dorris was a member of Plymouth Chapter of the order the Eastern Star, a beloved member of the United Church of Christ in Norwell and an active member of the North River Community Theater in Norwell. She leaves behind many dear friends who know that these words written here are but a trickle of an indication to what impact she has had on those lucky enough to have been a part of her life and her example on how to live life to its fullest. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013 from 2-6 pm in the McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 30 Central St. (off Rt. 123, near State Police Barracks), Norwell Center. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor may be made to the Scituate Animal Shelter, 780 Chief Justice Cushing Hwy., Scituate, MA. 02066.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, may 17, 2014 at 2 pm in the United Church of Christ, 460 Main St. (Rt 123), Norwell, MA. 02061.
