Edith (Berte) Abbadessa, age 98, of Cohasset and Hingham, born in Messina Italy, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on December 25, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Riccardo Abbadessa. Loving mother of Victoria Mortland and husband James of Hull, Richard B. Abbadessa and wife Virginia of Cohasset, Ted Abbadessa and wife Donna of Cohasset and the late Christine M. Hudson. Also survived by 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

Edith and Riccardo owned Abbadessa's Restaurant, West Corner, Hingham.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 10 am in St. Anthony Church, Cohasset. Visiting Hour 9-10 am, prior to Mass in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 160 So. Main St. (across from St Anthony Church), Cohasset. Family and Friends invited. Interment St. Paul Cemetery, Hingham. In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Edith may be made to Glastonbury Abbey Building Fund, 16 Hull St., Hingham, MA. 02043.
