September 26, 1947 - February 5, 2026
Edward P. Condon, Jr. of Norwell, formerly of Quincy, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at the age of 78.
Loving son of the late Edward P. and Violet T. Condon, Ed was a graduate of North Quincy High School and The Franklin Institute of Technology. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served during the Vietnam War. In his younger years, Ed was an avid bowler at St. Ann’s in Wollaston. He also loved playing softball, spending time outdoors, and had a passion for woodworking. Ed spent his entire professional career working for the New England Telephone Company. In retirement, he volunteered for many years with the Norwell Senior Center delivering Meals on Wheels - offering not only nourishment, but a familiar smile and a kind word to those he served. Always a devoted sports fan, he most especially loved the Oakland Raiders.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Donna-Jean Condon; his beloved daughter, Cheri Kelly, and stepson, Matthew Maher; his adored grandchildren, Brittney, Cortney, Mary, Caroline, Elizabeth, Morgan, Mackenzie and Dorian; his devoted brother, Brian Condon, and his wife, Kelley, and sister-in-law, Jennifer Condon; and his many cherished nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Patrick J. and Jospeh A. Condon. Ed treasured his many lifelong friendships, and he will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Ed may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America, 8719 Colesville Rd., Suite 100, Silver Spring, Maryland 20910.
